About Me: | I'm a former pilot and I've been a SAAB-er since getting my first car: my 2007 9-5 2.3T. After realizing that SAAB made the best cars ever built, I became very interested in the C900. I've always wanted to be an engineer (mainly a civil engineer), so I immediately found that many of the C900s systems were over designed, intricate, and very robust.
I purchased my first C900, a 1989 900 SPG that originally had been sold out of CVG, and had been sitting for more than 6 years. I made it my mission to restore it shortly after buying it as the fuel pump died... I think? This project led me to buy two other C900s, both of which need work so I'm up to my ears in projects.
With these projects (I love that word apparently), I've also taken on the laborious task of documenting every single detachable part of a C900 with a photo or two, and simple dimensions for hardware. I plan on making a video series of taking a C900 from frame to finished product in the future, so anyone can rebuild one just by watching the series and referencing a part photo library. I also love LEGO, and I find the C900 platform is like one of their systems - parts can be interchanged from one C900 to another. It'll take me a while, but it'll be fun when it's finished.
P.S Since you made it this far down reading my memoirs, I'll let you in on a little secret... BFJ Restoration stands for "Born from Jets Restoration." |
