It is powered by a 50w x2 Alphasonic amp. I plan to upgrade to a 100w x 2 only because I can buy do this for $30 more. It is more bass than you need, which is better than having too little, but when the amp is set at the right output, it really compliments the music. The box's dimensions are approx 6" deep by 2' tall by 2' wide. I was able to pack up enough camping gear for four people for a five day trip without having to remove it. No seats down, no 'carry-ons' in the car. What you will have to take into consideration next will depend on whether or not you want to keep your cassette/CD deck stock or replace it with a new one. If you will replace, read no further. Stock decks do not carry RCA outs, which is the input that amplifiers take. The RCAs carry a signal from the deck to the amp which has NOT been amplified. This is very important. Since stock decks are "RCA out challenged" you will have to deliver the signal from a speaker line. If you do this you MUST buy what is called a high-low converter. This gizmo takes an amplified signal and turns it into an RCA out that can be safely sent to the amp. Do NOT attempt to run speaker wire directly into the amp unless you want to ruin it. The set up in my vehicle cost roughly $500 (CAN), wires and connectors included. Unless you find it on sale or buy the goods in a country where things are actually affordable, you can expect to pay a bit more. Hope I was of some help, Adam
