While the problems I read & see are not fundemental or fatal issues, they are minor annoyances, like electrical glitches, rattles, leaks, etc. Mostly cosmetic. I have not heard of any design issues regarding the engine or drivetrain. If you get a *great* deal, it might be worth putting up with the problems. But, I would still have the prospective car checked out if you decide to purchase, and be ready for fixing little things. It always strikes me as odd when someone will pay $25,000 for a car, and then sell it three years later - either that person is loaded (but then he would buy an SE) or there is something "not right" with the car. IMHO, you're probably better off looking for a '91-'92 900S (assuming you want to stay away from turbos) as they will be much less, overall more reliable, and probably feel just like you were driving the '84, but better. As a note, I am particularly biased towards turbos - and would suggest looking into an '89 or '90 900T. For around $10,000, you can have a *very* nice turbo... -Justin
