Cables have a propensity for breakage. Sure hydraulic systems leak but I find both of my hydraulic clutches eminently serviceable. A hydraulic clutch is proven Saab technology vs. that of cables. Sort of a V6 vs. Turbo! 4 argument > Is there any reason to not save the extra $$$ and get a '98? Are > there any other significant changes for '98? No the '98 is one of the greatest opportunities that has occurred in the Auto-consumer's world that I can recall, though I am new to this Saab thing so haven't seen much.
