Subject: 93' 9000CSE Heater Question &Various other questions

Hello, After a year of looking for the perfect Saab(in my budget), I just bought what I consider to be it... a 93 9000CSE. After two days of driving my first Saab, I must say that I LOVE IT!!! However, like any used fine automobile it has its little problems.... Hence, here are my questions. 1) When I turn on my climate control system, I often get a brief smell of what I believe to be coolant. The car doesn't appear to be leaking any fluids but none the less the smell seems to be there. Once, when I started my the system on "Hi" it blew nothing out but cool air even though the engine was already warm. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be a heater core? 2) My voltage meter is telling me my altornator is producing on average 13.5 Volts. Is this normal? 3) My temperature gage in stop and go traffic will rise up to 1/4 inch below red. Once the fan goes on the temp goes down. Is this normal? Any imput would be appreciated An excited new Saab Owner Toby Stull
