From all I've read, its a first rate performer and Honda quality is inarguable. But, they are so damned ugly, especially on the inside. They kinda remind me of my fathers Oldsmobile. The latest Saabs experienced severe teething pains. But, this was most severe with the ghastly GM V6 equipped Saabs. The turbo 4 cylinder Saabs are a work of mechanical art. The V6 is history and from all accounts, the cars are back to their old, reliable state of being. The Saab build quality is as good as any car on the road and better than most. I have driven seven different Saabs to over 250000 miles and have never had any significant mechanical difficulties. The cars are built for the long haul. They are simply the best 2wd vehicle I have ever driven in the snow or rain. Put 4 good snow tires on them and they are like a snowmobile. Dont bother with all season tires. They are a compromise at all times. While I cant speak to the Prelude, I did own an Acura Integra that was inferior in the snow. The ground clearance was insufficient and the car had a pechant for understeer in very slippery conditions. And the A/C on Saabs work great. Tim.
