Hi Jim,
Tuned in the SAAB-group, browsing around, just because I´m a swede.
Never owned a 9000 but several 99´s and just wonder if you have checked the
battery poles for contact rather than corrosion. Your description suggests
that there is too much resistance in the circuit to be able to activate the
solenoid, cause if it did, the dash board would show.
