Subject: Re: SAAB repair -- Is it true what they say?

In article <69ml2o$k78nopsaml18.mindspring.com>, Joel Silverman <xhoeltingxnopsamspring.com> wrote: >I am thinking about buying a new Saab 900 S convertible, but am worried >about the Saab's "reputation" for being in the mechanic's garage as often as >it's in your own garage. Is this reputation deserved? Is it as true with >Saab's more recent cars? > I've got a '94 900S. It was an early one (I got it at the "introductory" price of $19,900) and it's been in the shop several times for recall work. But, I went through exactly the same thing with a 1977 BMW 320i (I've GOT to stop buying cars the first year they're introduced!). Other than for the recall work and a dead battery, the car has NEVER been in the shop for repairs (I probably shouldn't have said that; something terrible will happen on the way home). -- The opinions expressed in this message are my own and are not the opinions of anyone who does not hold those opinions.
