I have a 90' 9000 turbo and had the same problem.... I was also told that to replace the coil pack it would be $350.00 for a new direct ignition plate. I decided to take a look and removed the direct ignition plate ( red cover ) and then removed the black bakelite cover whithout any disconnection of wires. Just take the screws out of the d.i. plate and flip over. Then take the screws out of the black cover and lift off. The four coils will then be exposed. They just pull out. Look for the one that has no oil left in it. The oil serves as a heat dissipater and when it leaks out causes that cylinder to misfire. You can order the coil from Saab. I found a site on the web searching for "Saab parts" named trollhatten <SP> auto parts for about $50.00. Please be aware that when the oil leaks out of the coil it causes that coil to overheat and it may be necessary to replace the rubber grommet for that coil ( located within black housing) They are a pain in the but to replace, though. try it first with just the coil replacement.
