Given the market (I have an '86 900 - also repaired at Scandia) can you make an argument to your insurance company to pay more than blue book? I can't imagine the car being worth more than $3000-$3300, so spending $3500 to fix it hardly makes sense. With the salvage title, you might be lucky to get even $3000, since it will be obvious to anyone that the car has been substantially damaged. Wouldn't it be cheaper - in any case - to just take the money and buy another car?? In article <Pine.A41.3.96a.980126010807.54886A-100000nopsame23.u.washington.edu>, Kip Hauch <hauchnopsamshington.edu> wrote: > Thanks to one of the stupidest members of our species > who thoughtlessly ran a stop sign (BTW not me..), the > front end of my fun little 900 got crunched last weekend. > > The impact was substantial (thankfully only minor/moderate injuries) > the hood is now an A-frame, the front bumper > is crunched, the grill is completely smashed > and the left front quarter panel is pushed back about 12-15 inches. > The radiator is toast as is the front relay box front left. > The good (?) news is that the front wheels still spin, > and I can still shift through all five gears.
