More likely the inner transmission drivers and/or tripod bearings. Is your car a turbo!? I have a 92 900 TC and the right inner driver got dried out by the heat of the turbo! and was running with little if any grease in it. The drive surfaces get dimpled and manifests themselves as shuddering or vibration while accelerating hard. Labor intensive repair which means it's expensive. It would cost about $150 in parts for each side, assuming each side is bad. Find a good independant Saab mechanic and get his or her opinion. Good luck. Duane
