The piston is on a threaded shaft so in order to be pushed back in to fit the new pads you need to twist and push. There's a special tool you can buy that works great, but angle nosed pliers should work with some effort/struggle. You can push all day long it it won't move. My advice: Get the tool. Try your saab dealer. I got mine from Sport and Specialist Cars in Princeton NJ 1-800-705-SAAB Ask for Fred. It was about $15 or so. Good luck. Duane
