If the bulbs in your headlights and foglights are halogen bulbs, you should not touch them with your fingers when installing. Use a cloth to hold them. Any oil on your hands or fingers ( we are talking from the skin, not from the can) will transfer to the bulbs surface. Since the bulbs operate at high temperature, the oil will burn and cause the bulb to fail. I know this for a fact. I was an Air Force broadcaster for over 14 years. Every now and then someone would replace a halogen bulb in the studio lights. If they didn't use a protective cloth to handle the bulb, we often got a not so nice on air surprise, like KAPOW!!!!
