The Saab manual calls 2000 lb (about 910 Kg) the maximum tow weight if the
trailer has brakes; half that without brakes. I wouldn't exceed that.
I have an '82 900T that I use to tow a 1000 lb boat/trailer combination.
There's no problem on level ground, but downhill braking definitely takes
some planning!
