Are you sure it's the 'brake' symbol on the pictogram? If you press the brakes and the brake symbol shows up, one or more brake lamps may be out. This includes the third brake light. Have someone press the brake pedal while you check all of the lamps. If it's really the 'headlight' symbol, it may be a grounding problem.
