Saabs have not done well in resale value lately, especially the higher-end models. One way Saab has tried to fix this is to cut prices. The new 9-5 and 9-3 have lower list prices than the models they replaced. The other reason is that quality has not been up to par compared to the prices that Saabs command. Again, Saab is supposed to have fixed this with their new models. How well will the new models do? No one can say for sure. But on the surface, it appears that the 9-5 is a lot of car for the money. The only fault I found was that the manual transmission made for less than smooth acceleration.
