Subject: Weird whistling noise on '97 900 S

I just subscribed to this newsgroup. Hope some of you can answer my question and, or identify with this problem-- We have a '97 900 S that whistles only when being driven at highway speeds. When we approach the 60-70+ MPH range, it starts. This usually occurs on windier days, but can occur whether it's windy or not. It seems to be related in some way to the windscreen or wipers, as the sound eminates from that area. (Turning on the wipers doesn't stop it at all.) Has this happened to anyone else on this list? Can this be repaired? And on a rather strange note: we used to own an '89 900 S that did the same thing, but as you know, the two models are quite different in design. Thanks in advance for any clues/solutions to this problem. Susan sweschlernopsamigy.net
