Subject: Re: 1984 900 ELECTRICAL PROBLEM

xcler8r , phew where to begin? ok . First of all hard jumpering a component just to get it working (because a fuse is being blonw) is such a bad idea. I cant stress this enough. A hard jumber is ok when the component is working ok (for testing) but the reason the fuse is popping is because there is a spike of electricity somewhere on that circuit OR there is a component pulling too much current. this will make other components on the circuit fail and may cause many other electrical problems including the car buring itself to a crisp. the battery charge light is a known issue. and can be fixed with an OEM alternator replacement. or another fix. I cant seem to remember it so email me for more info. (i'll look it up) You more then likely have a failing alternator. which would make the engine cut out. and would cause several different fuses to pop. If your car has a blown head gasket it will not be running fine. 1 or 2 cylinders are low on compression. it should have a shudder in the engine. most noticeable on ide. the best way to chaeck this is to look at the coolant when it's running. if the cooland is up to level and it bubbles you Might have the blown head gasket you indicated. if the fluid level is dropping. then first check the doses for cracks and leaks.
