Subject: Hum at 40mph and below

I just recently purchased a 91 900S with auto trans. When decelerating, once I hit 40 mph the car starts to make a humming noise in the front end. The noise will decrease as the speed decreases. My question is, is this just how saabs sound or is there something wrong? It isn't the engine because the noise doesn't change with RPM, and it isn't the transmission because I dropped it down to 2nd and the noise didn't change. I figure it isn't tires or wheel bearings or balancing because the noise stops above 45 mph. Maybe I am just paranoid, but I thought I would ask. Any help would be appreciated.
