I have an intermittent starting problem with my 1989 9000 CD. Most of the time it starts fine but every now and then it takes multiple tries to get the starter to kick over. The problem was "fixed" last fall when I had the anti-theft box replaced (at a cost of $500+) but this spring it came back again. I have a new battery and there's plenty of juice, the dashboard lights up when I turn the key but nothing gets to the starter. I left the car at two garages for a week but it started for them every time so they weren't able to track down the problem. The strange thing is it seems to happen more frequently in hot weather (somehow connected to running the air conditioner???). I also somehow think it's tied into the anti-theft device still. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'll be out of town for a week and am hoping for some suggestions on my return. Thanks.
