Your best bet will be to replace rack with a remanufactured unit. After that is done, if flush and change the power steering fluid at least once every two years, you should find your rack lasting a lot longer. I had an 83 900T. It was in storage for 17 months and the seals on the rack and shocks went. The next rack problem came after striking a piece of wood on the Beltway. At first, I just noticed a bent rim. Six months later the rack started leaking and continued until it was replaced. I have an 87 9000S. My Saabtech friend has an 87 9000T. He changes his power steering fluid once a year, and is still on his original rack. Good luck. Ken Washington 87 9000S
