It sound too new for this but.... The blower fan (center of the windshield and under the intake grille on the '87) on the '87 has a foam gasket that seals between the fan housing and the outside air intake. The shop that replaced the siezed fan in my system did not replace the disintigrated foam seal; the result - gas fume smell in the car. I guess the foam seal assures the "fresh air" being pumped into the car is from the outside - not the engine compartment. It just seems like a '94 is too new for the foam to be falling apart. Is the smell there when the system is in "Recirculate" mode, "Fresh Air" mode or both?
