I just went through this with my 87 9000S in May. If your compressor is okay, you will more than likely have to replace the receiver/drier and expansion valve and fittings if converting to R-134a. What year is your Saab. I had to replace my compressor because the clutch went bad. I ordered my remanufactured compressor from Impex Distributors, 1-800-736-3550, and had the work done at my local Saab tech in Odenton. I stayed with the R-12. The compressor, other parts, one pound of R-12 and the labor cost me less than $670.00. Good luck. Ken Washington Upper Marlboro, MD 87 9000S 87 900S 83 900T
