Subject: Re: Saab 9-3 turbo problem!

My 9-3 turbo problem seems to be solved. For all interested people a short description of the fault ans the solution (lets hop it works for some time!) Problem: Giving full power with a hot engine, I could realise "pumping" turbo, loosing the turbo pressure again and again from about 4000 rpm. I could see the turbo needle dancing and could feel like I was pumping the accelaration. It seems, that the turbo pressure came up to the read area, and the system regulated it down. It was very uncomfortable esp. during overtaking outside the cities. I used gasoline as mentined in the handbook (95 ROZ) and the car has been driven about 3000 km. Solution: It was very difficult to find the fault. The surveillance system (Saab Tester) from m mechanic could not find any fault. Saab Sweden gave the idea, to chang the magnetic ventile for turbo regulation. The magnetic ventile, that regulates the turbo pressure, has been changed. I had a 200km test on a mountain road yesterday, where I realy coul test the system. The fault seems to be gone, but i think the car is a bit not so sporty now. My Saab mechanic told me, that this effect will be gone after a week, cause the software has a self learning system, that learns to use the full engine power.
