The problem is the original adhesive and/or foam layer has oxidized to a powder so there is nothing for the glue to glue to. If you saturated it with enough glue to hold it would look as bad as if you ripped off the fabric and painted the headliner. Any car uphosterer can take out the headliner through the hatchback, clean it, and cover it with new material and put it back in a couple of hours. I had it done with a 17 year old 900 about a year ago for $150. He used Ford material left over from another job that pretty well matched the original. Looks great. Ramsey Frist
