Yes, synthetic is a good idea, especially for a turbo. It handles temperature extremes much better than regular oil, and resists "coking" -- turning into solid carbon in the hot oil lines near the turbine -- much better than regular oil. You can go for longer intervals. I still use the factory recommended 7500 miles while under warranty (I just got a '98 900S Turbo), but extend that in my '82. --------------------- John R.
