I have a '92 non turbo that averages around 24 mpg and a '94 turbo convertible with the high performance engine option that has never achieved higher than 16 mpg. The Saab turbo is no Corolla and you should not expect similar gas mileage. The Corolla is designed specifically for fuel efficiency and the Saab is not. Tim
