Then again, we Americans drive everywhere and spend an inordinate amount of time in our cars. If I lived in Europe or the developed parts of Latin America, I could live close(r) to my job and thus walking and using public transport would become viable options. I could then stop at the espresso bar or on the train and stand while I quickly drank a coffee on my way to the office. If I lived in Asia, tea or coffee would be brought to me at my desk once I arrived at work. I don't, so I drive an hour to and from the office each day. During that time, I enjoy a cup of coffee. I'll admit that Americans do have a lot of truly awful habits (as a group), but I don't think this happens to be one.
