Seems that when the antenna gets a bit dirty, it does not want to go all the way down. This has been a recurring problem with every Saab I have owned. This assumes the mast is not damaged. If there are dents or kinks in the mast it will not go all the way down. The mast is easily replace and cost around $20 at the dealer. Tim.
