Subject: Re: Need performance computer for 1990 Saab 9000 CD Turbo

DANGER WILL ROBINSON! Actually, from late 1990 on, turbo 9000s featured the 2.3 liter engine (v. the 2.0 in earlier models). The highest "factory" power output was the 225hp "Aero". To the best of my knowledge, the CD was only offered in the US as an automatic. Knowing that, anything that would take the car over about 205-210hp (and the torque increase that such mods would have) would (IMHO) unacceptably lower the MTBF of the ZF-built auto box. If you have a 2.0 engine (or a non-US CD with a five-speed), Abbot Racing of the UK produces a APC chip upgrade, as does Group 6 motorsports of Arizona. Reports indicate an average 30hp increase. You'll find there are many other mods you can do as well. http://www.btinternet.com/~abbottracing/ http://www.group-6.com/ Mallthus 91 9000t CD In article <35f4bc92.10027375nopsam.CINTERNET.NET>, dobnopsamest.rs.itd.umich.edu (David > McCullough Dobson) wrote: > > >A friend of mine is looking for a performance turbo computer for his Saab > >9000 CD.
