Subject: Re: HELP PLEASE! Noisy 16V Turbo

Most of our Club members seem to use Mobil 1 in both 99, 900 & 9000 series. Mostly turbo. No problems reported, but lower running costs, less wear, less fuel usage etc. As for me, my mechanic uses Valvoline, and is a SAAB only specialist. He says either is ok. Must be some other problem. Also, my tappetts rattle to (185k kms, '86 9000 Turbo). Doesn't seem to affect the performance. Regular oil changes (every 5000 kms) and service seem to help. If things are still a problem, try Abbott Motorsport in the UK. They should know a thing or two!
