Subject: Saab stereo

Hi everyone, I've been watching this newsgroup for a few weeks now ever since I got my 1987 Saab Turbo. At first I thought I had a real lemon here, with all the problems people seem to be having with their Saabs. But then I realized that the other car newsgroups have problems of their own. I guess the mechanical beast will falter no matter where it's made. But anyway, this car I just go is cherry and I'm gonna take care of it as best I can. First i'm gonna change to Mobil 1 motor oil. And just because it's a turbo, I'm not going to run the thing like I'm in some sort of a race. I did read something about idling the car for 30 seconds or so before shutting down the engine to cool off the turbo bearings. Same goes for when you first start it. Other than replacing the A/C compressor, filter/dryer and expansion valve myself, the car has so far been trouble free, except that the stereo cassette refuses to turn off. The on/off push button switch seems to be stuck in. Is there a reputable repair center where I can take it for repairs, or is it better to just get a new one? It's one of those pull out types but I do not have the tool to remove it. Does the dealer have this tool and can I buy it? Thanks to all who reply. Joe
