You have several problems more than likely. The hiss under boost from the dash is more than likely a ruptured overboost switch. It is the white plastic/metal switch with two vacuum lines and two wires going to it. On a 86 9K it is mounted on a plate under the left side of the dash, a bit of a pain to get out. You may have a vacuum line problem there, but the switch is the more common problem. Fix this first before trying to get rid of the cold start syndrome. You can find info on the cold start at our website (down tonight, but back up tomorrow morning, at least by lunch) at http://www.townsendimports.com/ under Tune Up under technical documents. On a 86, the likely culprit is the air mass meter ending in 005. You must rule out any other possibility before jumping on the air mass meter though. If the brake booster or its check valve are ok, (rare to have a problem there) but check by pulling on the hose to the booster a bit. if you hear a hiss when you move the check valve, they are ok. Make sure the hose to them is in good shape. The problem may just be out of adjustment rear brake pistons. You can find info on that at the site as well under brakes. Good Luck, Ywan Mason
