Joe, I have owned an 83 900T and 87 900S. The service interval in the owner's manual for both calls for changing the oil once every 24,000 miles or two years, whichever comes first. I had my 83 900T for over 13 years and over 251,000 miles. I changed the oil in the 5 spd every 20,000 miles or about 7th oil change at 3,000 mile intervals for the engine.
