I replaced the solenoid on my own car about 4 months ago. It cost 35 pounds (UK). Amazingly when the part guy first flashed up the micro-film and submitted the part number etc. a cost of 120 pounds was returned. I remarked that this was redicolous so he tried again and came up with 35 pounds. Apparentlly he said this was because SAAB had just changed their prices and were trying to become more competive with their parts. He also remarked that there may be an increasing demand for such a part now due to the high mileage on many road worthy 900 turbo's etc. such as my own which is a 14 year old T16. As an afternote when I got the solenoid it had the wrong bloody wiring loom connections so I had to make my own. With respect to intermittent boost I think you are correct that this may be a problem with the APC box. The thing to do is to remove the knock sensor from the engine block, rap it up in a rag and secure somewhere in the engine bay. Then go for a drive and see if the boost is still intermittent. If not then replace the knock sensor. If intermittent boost still occurs then you may have to replace the APC box. However you can also wind out the knock sensor sensitivity on the APC box (bias pot k), and see if this makes any difference in case of EM interference. However I myself would make sure you remember the point at which the screw is at before attempting this. Personally I don't believe this EM interfering with the knock sensor stuff, since the cable is a shielded coax. The SAAB tech's I have talked to have also never heard of this effect. However they have told me that sometimes the APC box goes bad. -----== Posted via Deja News, The Leader in Internet Discussion ==----- http://www.dejanews.com/rg_mkgrp.xp Create Your Own Free Member Forum
