That way you only get a qualitative analysis to your head but it's far more meaningful than looking up HP/torque figures at a fixed RPM -- they don't tell the whole story. The entire engine power curve is much more meaningful, but it's not easy to get this data, especially if it's a newer car. You also have to consider gear ratios -- many cars do not have ratios well suited to their engines, for the sake of fuel efficiency.
