Once you have the transmission squared away, make sure you change the fluid and filter every 24,000 miles or two years, whichever comes first. >From reading the newsgroup and the www.saabnet.com Bulletin Board, I think one of the biggest problems with the automatic transmissions is lack of or poor preventative maintenance. I have owned 3 Saabs, an 83 900T, 87 900S and 87 9000S. All have been five speeds, and I made sure the oil was changed every 20,000 to 25,000 miles.
