Subject: Re: Recommended Oil Filter for '87 9000t

As someone who has used Fram's on my 9000T for better than the last 70k, with absolutely no problems, and clean looking oil, I say stick with the Fram, they're cheap and they work well, but I would stay away from the new ones with the Teflon. Now that GM is on board w/Saab, the Saab filters went from the large diameter size of the original equipment filter on your car-- Mann-- to a small diameter, about the size that is original equipment on my Mazda 626, so obviously GM has cheapened the filter.. The Fram's are Mann size. Mann apparently makes different grades of filters, as my dealer told me that only use the white ones (they were blue when stamped "Saab").
