I just changed the plugs on my '82 900 for the first time; the car being a non-turbo, I used NGK BPR6ES. Curiously, the previous owner had BPR5ES's in the engine. The old plugs were smaller to the eye and were extracted with a different sized socket. Its agreed that larger BPR6ES is the standard. Why would somebody put smaller plugs, incorrect plugs, in the car. The car has been fanatically maintained (270,000 miles), so I can't believe that the smaller plugs were put in by mistake or for no reason. Any thoughts please. . . --Rob
