On Tue, 03 Nov 1998 01:23:25 -0800, just as I was about to see how much duct tape you REALLY need to stop a gerbil from exploding, Justin VanAbrahams <jvanabranopsamnet> distracted me by babbling thusly: >Cool! Where'd ya get the bulbs? I've got a couple out, and have >the replacements on hand, but your LED idea seems much cooler... >I'd love to do the same... Well, I'm in the electronics industry so I just go down to my supplier, so for me it's not a problem. I doubt you can get the megabrights from the electronics hobbyist outlets, but you can try. These are rated at 2000 millicandela or even higher....it's enough to throw a spot beam at a distance of 2 metres. The white light LEDs, for example, are rated at 6000! VERY bright indeed. Guess what's going to happen to the rear light clusters on my turbo cab one day.... I just consider this as nothing more than taking an excellent vehicle and applying some minor, but effective, Dean re-engineering to it. Try asking for them at street retailers, but failing that you will have to go to trade suppliers. I can tell you how to wire in the LED and series resistor. BTW I just got home tonight with the ignition barrel ring glowing a very bright yellow when the interior lights come on upon getting out of the car. No way you can miss the slot in a hurry :-) -- Win95 Error: 079 Mouse not found - A mouse driver has not been installed.
