Chris, A few thoughts: Air filters: Unless you plan on keeping and driving the car a long time, Bosch or similar air filters are just fine. K&N filters are nifty, too.. but ,again, probably not worth the expense of getting if you're keeping the car a limited time and not trying to squeeze every drop of power out. Gearbox oil on an '86 is kinda' tricky. You'll need some sort of tool to suck the old gearbox oil out. I had very good experience with Redline MTL synthetic gear lube. Spark plugs: NGK! On my '86, I used the ***7EV plugs, with the gold/platinum electrode, and one heat range cooler than stock, as I drove the '86 hard. The plugs wear like iron--didn't need to regap or replace at 30 OR 60k miles!) Do seriously consider replacing the plug wires/cap/rotor while you're at it. Anti-Freeze: Any of the major brands should do just fine, once again. A good time to check the condition of the hoses, including the ones from the head to the heater core. More things to check over, if you normally don't do them: Check the condition of brake pads and rotors, CV boots, etc. Also, consider changing the brake/clutch fluid, and flush out the hydraulic lines. Not that difficult, and will extend the life of those systems. Have fun! Paul ex-86 9000T 93 9000 Aero
