The ACC just pops out - you can either remove the radio and push it out from behind (not easy because of the sleeve that carries the radio), or you can very carefully pry it out from the front with to very thin screwdrivers (you might want to stick a piece of masking tape on the surrounding facia first so you don't leave any marks). Once you've got it loose (only needs to move about 1/4-1/2" to release), slide it out slowly- theres a wire harness you'll need to unplug. I've got the same problem on mine- half of the buttons are dark.
