OK,OK,OK! I get the point. I started shifting without the clutch after watching an interview with Michael Andretti a couple of years ago. He said, in racing, he never uses the clutch for upshifts and with the right blip of the throttle can even downshift without the clutch. Now, I'm no M. Andretti, and my Shadow (2.5l turbo) was no Lola, but I tried the upshifts without the clutch and was surprised how easily the gears slipped into place. I was just curious why the Saab was so balky whenever I try it. However, if the gears don't engage easily, I'm not forcing it into gear. I'm not out to tear up my transmission. To be more precise: I DON'T ABUSE MY SAAB!!!! I love this car and hope to be driving it for many more thousands of miles. Greg Youngen
