Perhaps this isn't helpful, but I have the same problem on an '89 9k. I've noticed that it seems to be engine temperature and climate control operated. In the winter it is more likely to kill itself off during start up, during the summer it is more likely to play with the idling revs. I was told that this is due to the ACC by my mechanic. Since the people I know with 9ks w/o the ACC haven't had this problem, seems safe to me. Since the only real problem was the occasional dying in the winter, I just took to revving the engine up by foot feed (not to much, below 1k) instead of letting itself sort these things out. Now it this doesn't seem to be a problem. Matthew
