I'd only get the automatic if you have to. They are only 3-speeds and the engine revs to around 3000 on the highway. The 5-speed will give you much more satisfaction. I don't want to tell you what to do but even if you don't know how to drive a 5-speed, get one and learn! The 5-speed will also feel a lot quicker. If you aren't a speed freak the non turbo will suit you well, it a very nice engine with a respectable, smooth power band. As far as the electrical system, I don't think it's a major trouble spot.
