Subject: Loud starter

Hello all! This morning it was -15C (258K, I don´t know what it is in Farenheit, sorry) degrees cold. When starting my 900 -91 the starter gave a loud whistling noise, like an alarm. The sound ended after the engine had turned a little. What is the reason for this? Is it the gear at the end of the starter, some kind of electromagnetic fenomenon or something else? Has anybody experienced this and how could it be fixed? The other thing that has been wondering me is that how easy is it to install AC or power windows afterwards. The wiring sould be there - or is it? I´m also interested in installing a turbo. What is the demand on compression ratio for the lowpressure turbo or must I change the pistons too to recieve lower compession (now about 10:1)? New pistons are quite expensive, how about "higher" head gasket - is it possible or does it affect too much to the camshaft timing? Any comments? Thanks in advance. Roy Björkstrand ps. To E-mail me just remove nospam from e-mail adress.
