I just bought a clutch master cylinder in the last 6 months from a dealer in
Portland OR for nopsam.00.  Are you using DOT 4 brake fluid?  DOT 3 will
compromise(sp?) the seals in european hydaulic parts.

Replacing the C.M.C. is not a difficult job either.  It is attached directly
to the clutch pedal and bolts into the firewall.  You may see some leakage
inside the car if it's bad.

Is the feed hose from the brake fluid resevoir(sp?) connected to the C.M.C.?
It sounded as if it was a sudden loss of pressure.
