Douglas, Just as I told Justin, the engines for the 900 & 9000 are basically the same, but there are some differences, not to mention the 9000 is a transversal mount and the 900 is not. The heads for both 16V engines differ slightly, as do the required spark plugs...I know this for a fact because I owned an 87 900S 16V 5 spd for two years before I bought my 87 9000S 5 spd....Unless a person is familiar with the differences, as well as the similarities, using the Bently manual could cause problems for the novice 9000 owner... I have the Haynes Manual myself. Ken Washington 87 9000S 87 900S 83 900T
