You know, I drive a lot. Every year at least 40.000 kms and I am NOT a professional driver. 3 years ago I even made 100.000 km per that year traveling on both business trips to my customers and on vacations with my family. I realized that traction systems can be VERY important. For this amount of mileage you must "expect unexpected", like some snow or ice behind the curve (on otherwise clear road), etc. You cannot expect everything and traction systems WILL help you. Also on a highway with random lines of snow, the traction systems which monitor left and right side of the car are of a great help. You CAN do without them, but you will have to drive slower. And I do not have that much time to drive slow. Traction not always helps, but it surely makes the car safer to drive (=active safety). Enjoy your (Saab) driving. Radek
