The NG '94 900S manual transmission does not have a transmission oil dipstick but does have drain, check and fill plugs. The check plug is accessible by removing the tire next to the transmission; you will see it on the side of the transmission halfway up. Gear oil should be at the level of the check plug. All three plugs take a 8mm allen wrench I believe. Saab recently issued a bulletin on how to switch over a NG 900 manual to synthetic gear oil, this article was recently reprinted in NINES and someone posted the text. There was a nice picture detailing the exact location of all the plugs, perhaps someone has it posted somewhere. Good luck, Doron 94 900S
